A to Z Survey

A Diana partilhou este questionário que viu no Blog of Erised e que teve origem no blog The Perpetual Page-Turner e como me pareceu interessante... TCHARAN! aqui está.

Author you’ve read the most books from:
Enyd Blyton! Li o quê? Mais de 30 livros da sua autoria? Entre Os Cinco, Os Sete, As Gémeas, O Colégio das Quatro Torres, é fazerem as contas...

Best Sequel Ever:

Currently Reading:
O Atlas das Nuvens de David Mitchell

Drink of Choice While Reading:
Chá! Também bebo café, sumos ou água mas havendo possibilidade de escolha, chá sempre.

E-reader or Physical Book?
Ambos.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Epá, acho que adoraria andar na mesma escola que o Colin Bridgerton, se tal fosse possível no séc. XIX, mas deveria ter a mesma sorte da Penelope... Só nos late twenties é que repararia em mim, se o fizesse de todo. :P

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Romancing Mr. Bidgerton pois nunca tinha lido um romance do género, desdenhava um pouco até, mas depois foi a loucura.

Hidden Gem Book:
North and South da Elizabeth Gaskell.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Acho que já estou farta de mencionar o verão em que li A Lua de Joana e percebi que podia aprender lições de vida enquanto lia, sem ter de passar por aquelas situações.

Just Finished:
O Navegador da Passagem de Deana Barroqueiro

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Não sei, acho que já li de tudo um pouco.

Longest Book You’ve Read:
Os da Diana Gabaldon ou o Shogun.

Major book hangover because of:
Ui, esta é difícil. Não me recordo, já tem acontecido mas agora não me recordo de nenhum em especial.

Number of Bookcases You Own:
Minhas são duas, mas cá por casa há mais 3 ou 4.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Harry Potter e a Pedra Filosofal, deve ser o que reli mais vezes.

Preferred Place To Read:
Acho que também já tenho falado na varanda, à sombra das árvores... mas também gosto de ler na cama e agora o meu irmão arranjou uma cadeira jeitosa, tenho de ver se o tiro mais vezes de lá para lá me sentar eu e ler.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?
Dumbledore e as suas palavras de sabedoria.

Reading Regret:
Blood and Chocolate?

Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
As Brumas de Avalon.

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
A Lua de Joana, O Conde de Monte Cristo, Persuasão.

Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Harry Potter! Julia Quinn! Shakespeare! Tom Hiddleston!

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Quer dizer, ainda não sei quando ou até se vai ser publicado, mas eu quero o livro do Colin em PT!!!

Worst Bookish Habit:
Encher o livro de migalhas porque como biscoitos? Estragar a lombada porque há livros em que não consigo ler as palavrinhas que calham mesmo ali no meio? Atirá-los para dentro da mala sem qualquer tipo de protecção?

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Cold as Ice da Anne Stuart. Devia de ler este romance contemporâneo. A série foi-me bastante recomendada por uma antiga colega de trabalho.

Your latest book purchase:
O Meu Programa de Governo de José Gomes Ferreira em julho. É apenas o terceiro livro que comprei este ano. *faz festa de não compra de livros*

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Outra pergunta difícil, sobretudo porque por muito que queira estar a ler até tarde, chega por volta da 1h ou 1h30 e não dá, tenho mesmo de sucumbir ao cansaço e dormir. *pensa* Talvez o último tenha sido o Gone Girl.

Challenges:
New Bout of Books Blogs @ Little Lovely Books
So my challenge:
Make a list of 5 bloggers that you found during this Bout of Books. Post the list on your blog and leave me the link. Don't have a blog? Post your list to Twitter and leave me the link. Don't have either? Leave your list in a comment and leave me the link.
Yesterday I wasn't on-line so I completely missed this challenge.

So, this read-a-thon could have been better but the time wasn't right, it seems. At work I had to take care of some minor problems and on top of that I came down with a cold and the huge headaches it usually brings. But I read! At least on 5 of the 7 days of the week, which is a lot better than what I've been doing this year. I was hoping to finish a book and read a bit of another one, but I can't say this challenge was a fail. I read and that's all that matters. I'll be participating on the next one, hopefully with a bit more success, because after all it was fun! :D

Bout of Books - Day 6

Pages read today: 0 pages.
Time devoted to reading today: none. Second time this week I haven't read.

Total of pages read so far: 127 pages
Time devoted to reading so far: about 3h15.

Challenges:

What you have to do:
  1. Comment below with your answer to one the following question, make sure to leave the name you entered bout of books with in your comment (if you don’t leave the name I don’t count you as an entry). You can choose either question or both.
  2. After your comment, fill out the quick rafflecopter form so I can contact you if you win.
Question 1: If you could be like any character from a fictional book, who would it be? What do you like about them?Tell me why!
or
Question 2: There’s lots of books out there, but is there one that you’ve been dying to read that doesn’t seem to be written yet? Describe it briefly.
Acrostic Book Poem @ I Read, Ergo I Write
This challenge has been around for a time now, so i'm sure you know the rules:
- Pick a book! Any book!
- Write the title vertically on a sheet of paper.
- Next to each letter, write an adjective or a line or verse that describes the book.
Easy peasy!
Next, take a snap, if you can or want. Of the book and your poem, or just the book, or just the poem. Anything works. Or make a picture, like I am, on Photoshop or elsewhere and post it! It's more engaging and fun that way, but it's not a big deal if you dont.
And then, link your poem in the comment section!
Again, I didn't participate in any of the challenges but the second one seemed quite interesting.

Pages read today: 10 pages.
Time devoted to reading today: 15 minutes.

Total of pages read so far: 127 pages
Time devoted to reading so far: about 3h15.

I've been slacking a bit but had to take care of somethings at work to get a relaxed vacation week (YAY! now I'll be doing some heavy reading!) and have been coming down with a cold. Yes, a cold during summer and when I'm getting a week off work. Just my luck.

Challenge:
Again I didn't entered the challenge.

Bout of Books - Day 4

Pages read today: 0 pages.
Time devoted to reading today: none. It was a long day, I was exhausted and just couldn't find the strenght to pick up a book.

Total of pages read so far: 117 pages

Challenges:
Book Road Trip @ In Wonderland
I love going on road trips or any kind of trip for that matter and I always bring a TON of books with me. For this challenge, I'd like for you to come up with a list of the top 5-10 states/places you'd love to visit and find a book (you either read or want to read) that takes place in that state/place or a book by an author who lives or is from there.
I Spy... @ Paperback Dreamer
For today’s challenge all you need is your bookshelf and/or your eReader, and a fun attitude! I’m sure many of you remember the fun “I Spy” books when we were younger, it would tell you to find a particular object in the picture of clutter and you would have to find it, well I thought it would be fun to do that with our book covers. The object of this game is to find the specific items listed below using the books you own! I do have just a few rules for this challenge so that it is a little more challenging.
Rules:
  1. You can only use a particular book one time for the objects listed.
  2. You can only use two books from a series and then you can’t use that series again to find the remaining objects.
  3. You must use a book that you own either physically or electronically.
You can find the list here.

I didn't participate in any of them but they did sound fun. I'm just posting them here in case any one might be interested.

Bout of Books - Day 3

Pages read today: 34 pages of O Navegador da Passagem.
Time devoted to reading today: again, about an hour. Better than nothing.

Total of pages read so far: 117 pages
Time devoted to reading so far: about 3 hours

Challenge:
TBR List Challenge @ Musings of a Bookship Girl
1. Which 5 books are at the top of your TBR pile at this moment?
Some books lent by friends and from the library and one about Portuguese current economic-political crisis: A History of Private Life: From Pagan Rome to Byzantium, Dead Witch Walking, Midnight Awakening, Cloud Atlas, O Meu Programa de Governo.
2. If I gave you a wad of cash and sent you into a bookshop right now, which 5 books would you buy to add to the stack?

Book Spine Poetry @ Such a Novel Idea
The rules are simple:
1. Find some books, and create a poem out of their spine.
2. Take a picture of the spine poem.
3. Upload it on the link.
I'm skipping this one because I'm way too tired to find books and make poetry. It's been a very long day.

Bout of Books - Day 2

Pages read today: 43 pages of O Navegador da Passagem.
Time devoted to reading today: again, about an hour.

Total of pages read so far: 83 pages
Time devoted to reading so far: 2 hours

Challenge:
Re-Title It @ Music Plus Books
Today I'll be hosting the Re-Title It Challenge. Sound too easy? Well actually, it is that easy. All you have to do is rename the book you're currently reading or more if you'd like. If you've haven't started a book, you can judge it by the cover. For all you bothered people, if this is too easy, don't worry! You can remake the whole cover if you'd like as well. Either way, I'd love to see what all you guys come up with.
I'm reading O Navegador da Passagem (something like The Passage's Sailor), which is set during the Discoveries and tries to tell the story of Bartolomeu Dias, the captain that for the first time rounded the coast of Africa in 1488. I would rename it O Capitão do Fim (or The Captain of the End) which is how Fernando Pessoa, a Portuguese poet, called him in poems devoted to the Discoveries.
